Surina was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and moved to Steamboat Springs when she was 10 years old. Upon moving to Colorado, she quickly developed a love for skiing and the outdoors. Surina attended the University of Denver for her undergraduate degree and double majored in international studies and Spanish.
Surina began law school at Northeastern University School of Law in August 2020 and will graduate in May 2023. Throughout her time at NUSL, Surina found a passion for helping others through her volunteer work at a local food pantry in Boston, and her drive for helping others did not stop there. Surina’s legal experience is now largely focused on immigration and immigration-related matters. She is excited to spend her last semester of law school helping the impactful work of Towards Justice and continuing to learn how to be a better advocate in Colorado and beyond.
