Renee Lopez was born and raised in Colorado and proudly identifies as a first-generation Latina student. Renee attends Colorado State University, where she is double majoring in Communications and International Studies while also pursuing a minor in Legal Studies. She is scheduled to graduate in December of this year.
Renee is passionate about giving back to her community. She currently volunteers with Realities for Children, a non-profit organization that helps at-risk children in Northern Colorado through advocacy work. Her volunteer worth with RFC made her realize that she could truly help vulnerable and underserved people by fiercely advocating for them. However, Renee has always known that she aspired to speak on behalf of the many in our society who are voiceless, and that aspiration has become her motivation for pursuing a career in law. She hopes that as an attorney she can not only add some necessary diversity to the legal field, but also inspire other first generation Latina students to do the same.
Renee is eager and beyond thrilled to join the Towards Justice team for this Spring!
