Denver, CO: Since 1789, the law has been clear that parties to a lawsuit get one appeal, and they can only take that appeal after final judgment. GEO, a billion dollar corporation that runs on taxpayer money, is asking the Supreme Court to grant it an exception: to allow GEO, and other private contractors, to appeal over and over again, regardless of how much it costs the court system or delays meritorious claims. We are hopeful that the Supreme Court will reject this request, and reaffirm that the same rules apply to GEO as apply to every other litigant: one lawsuit, one appeal.
