Overview
Lewis v. Avant Healthcare, LLC is a class action case filed in Florida alleging that Avant is violating federal labor and trafficking laws, as well as other state and federal laws, by threatening to saddle nurses with a financial penalty of tens of thousands of dollars if they try to leave their jobs within three years – or more – of starting work. The case also alleges that Avant compels nurses to work by threatening them with immigration consequences for finding better jobs.
